Preparing for Christmas Holidays
Tourist agents from Bulgaria were hosted by Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, in order to integrate the city in their tourist packages for Christmas and New Year Eve.
Thirty-three tourist offices from the neighboring country, which specialize in outgoing tourism towards Thessaloniki, got a first glimpse of the city’s preparations for Christmas. They visited a total of 16 hotels (3*, 4* and 5*), and they were greeted with Christmas mood and colorful touches of New Year Eve. Their first impression was very positive and encouraging in terms of Bulgarians visiting Thessaloniki during the holidays.
“Thessaloniki and the region of Macedonia are suitable for holidays every month of the year and we want tourist arrivals from your country to continue growing. Bulgaria is a target market, which we invest in and we expect to operate cumulatively to our tourist traffic increase” stated the Deputy Chairman of TTO, Apostle Tzitzikostas.
Deputy Mayor of Culture and Tourism, Spyros Peggy, following the policy of friendship towards the Bulgarian people added: “Through the Bulgarian tour operators, who were informed on the hotel infrastructure of our city, in view of Christmas holidays, we invite our Bulgarian friends and neighbors to visit and become acquainted with the beauty and history of Thessaloniki and we promise a warm welcome on behalf of citizens of Thessaloniki.”
The fam trip which took place on 10 & 11 November 2012, was organized by TTO in collaboration with the Hotel Association of Thessaloniki, GTO office in Sofia and PYT of Central Macedonia.
