Thessaloniki claims the World Rowing Coastal Championship
The Municipality of Thessaloniki claims The World Rowing Coastal Championship 2014, together with the Greek Rowing Federation.
For this purpose, delegation of the World Rowing Federation (FISA) consisting of Guin Batten, president of FISA “Rowing for All”, and Colleen Orsmond, FISA Events Manager, visited Thessaloniki on 11 and 12 January. The delegation of the World Federation met with members of the Greek Rowing Federationand the Municipality of Thessaloniki in order to be informed of the nomination.
During the two day-meeting the track and the venues that will host the championship were inspected and instructions for the preparation of the final report were given. The final report should be submitted to the global federation until January 31st.
The city that will host the event will be announced during the FISA World Congress to be held on 14 and 15 February in Copenhagen. The championship is expected to be in early October and will last three days.
