For the third consecutive year the free press “EXOSTIS” and NGO “Kids In Action” organize and invite you to the 3rd Balkan Festival on Friday 28th of February at the cultural center Block 33.
Balkans, 1 peninsular, 8 different countries and peoples, different languages and lives, so many things divide these people, but even more are those that unite them. Common historical and cultural roots, common customs, common culture and lifestyle. The peninsula that connects Central Europe with the Mediterranean, a crossroad with distinctive cultural identity and strong character.
The Balkan Festival aims at gathering and highlighting elements from the culture of the countries of the Balkan Peninsula, identifying through our diversity our common features. For one day guests of Block 33 will travel to cities in the Balkan peninsula through images of Balkan filmmakers and photographers, will taste delicacies of Balkan cuisine and have fun with music and Balkan sounds.
The program of the 3rd Balkan Festival stands at, for the moment, as follows:
- Projection of the film “DISAPPEARANCE (WITHERING / ODUMIRANJE)» directed by Milos Pusic. A 2013 film production, presented on “Balkan Survey” of the 54th Thessaloniki International Film Festival. The projection of the movie will start at 20.00
- Digital photography exhibition “Wandering in the Balkans” by Katsamakis Alexandros
- Live concerts : Luxus (TR), Koza Mostra (GR), The Balguns (GR), Rithmos & melodia, Ta Halkina of Kastoria, Dj Set by GypsyHand (GR)
- “Flavours of the Balkans”, traditional delicacies from the Balkan countries
We are waiting for you on Friday 28th of February at 20:00 at the cultural center Block 33 for one day with color, images, sounds and tastes of the Balkans.
