TruckFighters @ Eightball Club & Live Stage | 11.01.14

Truckfighters was formed in Örebro, Sweden in 2001. After releasing EPs in 2001 and 2002, they recorded a split-EP with local Swedish band Firestone in 2003. In 2005 they released their debut album Gravity X on both MeteorCity Records and Fuzzorama Records. Their follow-up album, Phi, was released in 2007 by Poison Tree Records in the U.S. and on the Fuzzorama label elsewhere. Their sound has been described as classic desert rock, similar to bands like Dozer, Fu Manchu, and Kyuss. They have been featured on the MTV Sweden show “Fuzz”. The band has done extensive touring over the years, playing more than 300 live shows, most of them in Europe. Their first USA tour, in July 2011, included stops in New York, Chicago, Detroit, and Cleveland.

The film Truckfighters by Joerg Steineck and Christian Maciejewski portrays the band’s life.[3] It was released in December 2011 and features interviews with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age. The film provides an ironic, entertaining view of the three “ordinary” guys who transform into Fuzz Monsters onstage.

The band has announced a new album, Universe, for fall 2013, however it was pushed back to January 2014. As a teaser, The Chairman EP was released in October.

CyBeRiAnS & BLOCK 33 present NEW YEAR’S EVE:
U-RECKEN – SIRION – ENCEPHALOPATICYS

U-Recken
Dacru Records
www.facebook.com/urecken
As a dedicated psychedelic artist U-Recken has managed to capture the essence of psychedelic music. Yaniv takes trance to its right place as intelligent music, making use of bass rhythm and melodies as a carrier for the message of light, love and eternal freedom of thought. After two successful studio albums (Aquatic Serenade in 2006 and Deeper Into Man in 2008) he’s ready to move on to the next stage in his career. In 2010 he founded “Tree Of Life” and today he’s responsible for one the biggest psytrance festivals, taking place in Turkey. The festival reflects his unique taste of music and concept. Since 2011 Yaniv joined forces with Belgium based label Dacru Records after already releasing tracks as ‘Stop Time’, ‘Days In Space’ and ‘The Optimist’ (vs DigiCult) with this label. Now a third full album ‘A Light at the End of the World’ is being prepared for release at Dacru Records.

SIRION
Millenium Records
www.facebook.com/pages/Sirion-Music/302996349713655
Sirion is a projekt from Levent Inan. He was born and life in the beautiful City Hamburg in north Germany. He was just 14 years old as he had the first contact to the Psytrance Scene, he loved the powerfull vibes of the music and of course the partys and the peoples. After a few years of mixig he wants to create his own sound and start producing in 2005. He need a few years to find his own style. Its a very melodic Fullon Sound with driving basslines. In June of 2010 Millenium Rec. will release his Debut Album ” Reboot your Mind ”

ENCEPHALOPATICYS
Parvati Records
www.facebook.com/vasko.encephalopaticys
is the project of Vasko Velickovski. The name of the project sound weird, but that is how his music realy is. He is born and living in skopia a place full of high hills and spirits unknown for most of the listeners, Macedonia is another reason of his unique style and powerful sound. He started Dj ing in 2001,and as an extreme type of person after couple of eyers he found DJ ing as a bridge to something that will build a path leading to his dream-creating his own visions into sounds. After few years of djing and more time spend with psychedelic music, he start to experiment with the psychedelic sounds, starting to create his own sounds, in his studio. The project Encephalopaticys is born 2003. It’s hard to find the right words to describe his music some will say it hard, dark powerful night trance, I’ll say its sound that came from one identity one person one mind simply Encephalopaticys. In this project Vasko works on very powerful dark sound, with deep bass line followed by psychedelic sounds and scary forest atmospheres, inspired by the high hills, the surrounding spirits and the oxygen poison.`All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him.` EnJOY it.

Blue Oyster Cult

Blue Oyster Cult @ Block 33 | 07.02.14

Blue Öyster Cult is a renowned hard rock/heavy metal band which formed in 1967 in Long Island, New York, United States. The band is led by founding members Eric Bloom (vocals, guitar) and Buck Dharma (guitar, vocals). They are best known for their hit singles “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” and “Burnin’ for You”.

The members of the band began to come together in the late 1960s, as a band called Soft White Underbelly, in the vicinity of Stony Brook University on Long Island, New York, at the prompting of critic Sandy Pearlman. Pearlman was very influential for the band, getting them gigs, their first record with Columbia, and using his poetry as the basis of many of their songs, including “Astronomy”. The band changed its name to the Stalk-Forrest Group in 1968. One single was released on Elektra Records under this name in 1969, though over one album of material was recorded. The name changed once more, to Blue Oyster Cult, in 1970. The umlaut was added later that year. They became a successful heavy metal band during the 1970s, and unlike many of their colleagues are still active today.

They are best known for three songs: their 1976 single “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” from the album Agents of Fortune (also featured in the cult movie Halloween, and in Stephen King’s novel The Stand), “Godzilla” (1977) from the album Spectres and their 1981 single “Burnin’ for You” from the album Fire of Unknown Origin.

We`ll run away to Greece, We`ll walk the ruins of the Parthenon, We`ll drink ouzo in our cup, watch the dust billow `til the night is gone – B.O.C.

Nick Warren

Nick Warren @ Club Le Freak | 31.12.13

Club Le Freak and The Cosmic Expeditions welcomes the new year with a festive party that will remain etched in our memory for a long time. Nick Warren, one of the best representatives of the progressive house scene worldwide, comes to his favorite city in Greece, Thessaloniki, to eject the dancefloor and Le Freak. Intro X.P.Riens outro Toni Manga.

You can tell when Nick Warren’s on the decks. The music emanating from the DJ booth is that perfect club mix of driving percussion and soaring musicality, bursting out of the speakers, soaking everyone in melody, drenching them in sound. Warren’s impressive career has seen him release the very first “Back to Mine”, a staggering eight albums for “Global Underground”, and one for “Renaissance”. He is also in control of A&R for record label Hope Recordings, as well as being a member of the highly acclaimed duo Way Out West. Starting as tour DJ with Massive Attack, moving onto a residency at super club Cream and playing at every self-respecting club on the planet, has led him to this natural position as one of the world’s most respected DJs.

All this history has been eclipsed by Nick’s present: Nick continues to play out every weekend on every continent, whilst also maintaining Hope Recording’s high quality output that they and Warren himself have become synonymous with; his DJ career spans two decades and is driven by a continual desire for change. His sound is forged by an enduring relationship with cutting edge producers all over the globe, in many cases long before they become established. This is no better represented than in the continuing bi-monthly Radio show ‘Soundgarden’ on Friskyradio which attracts over 150000 unique tune-ins to each airing, or his mixes for Digweed’s ‘Transitions’ and now his album for Renaissance.

Siopis

Siopis @ Club Le Freak | 25.12.13

One may indentify Jannis Siopis as the former Silversurfer from Crosstown Rebels, a rather raw, dark and mysterious lad in his early days. His roots derive from a traditional Greek background in a modern German setting.

A classical love affair with his clarinet and trumpet later coincided with his creative talent for breakdancing, graffiti art and spinning records, ultimately, landing him DJ gigs in small clubs in Germany. In 1997 he moved to Berlin, where his musical career was launched into full swing. His unmatched DJ sets were part of the soundtrack of the uprising electronic music metropolis. Siopis’ stages were underground clubs and Illegal off-location parties in east Berlin. In 2003 it was time for the next step. Missing real special sounds in his dj bag, he wanted to fill this gap by creating his own music. Years of impressions & melting profoundly with Berlins nightlife made his creativity arouse very quickly in the studio. After only 3 months in the studio his very first track “Welcome to Berlin” was born. It immediately hit the electronic music scene in its core and became an anthem for the city.

Causing worldwide a stir amongst many recognized artists and labels, Damian Lazarus was one of the first who picked up on this uprising talent. A Silversurfer production became Crosstown Rebels’ first release. In the following years he toured all around the world playing in more than 30 different countries at venues like Fabric London, Back to Basics in Leeds and Space Ibiza. His DJ Sets and Live Acts with Kiki set a unique brandmark on the electronic music landscape.

In 2008 he felt the need for a time-out. The mexican jungle provided the perfect environment for this.
Living there insulated for several months he connected deeply with nature and himself. Awakening new creative energy led him to the decision to start a new project: SIOPIS.

Returning to Berlin he had several successful releases such as “Penny from the Lane” & “Really love ya” on Get Physical and the recently released Masterplan EP on Crosstown Rebels’ offshooting label Rebellion.

Currently he is working on new material for Get Physical and Crosstown Rebels next to taking care of his own imprint MANGALI.
