Formed in 2007, Aarhus-based Tales of Murder and Dust plays a dark, experimental mixture of psychedelic rock and Shoe-gaze wrapped in a cinematic sound merging noisy guitars, violin, organ and sitar.
Since the release of their critically acclaimed EP ”Peyote” (2009) the 6 piece band has supported The Black Angels, Wooden Shjips, Crystal Stilts and Blue Angel Lounge.
In March 2012, the band released their self-produced debut album ”Hallucination of Beauty”. Since its online release as “name your price”, the album has spread virally with immense speed resulting in sufficient crowd funding for a vinyl release due in January 2013. The band is expected to release their next EP in spring 2013.

Mono (stylised as MONO) are a Japanese instrumental rock band, formed in 1999 in Tokyo. The band consists of Takaakira Goto (electric guitar, glockenspiel), Hideki Suematsu (electric guitar, glockenspiel), Tamaki Kunishi (bass guitar, electric guitar, piano, glockenspiel), and Yasunori Takada (drum kit, glockenspiel, synthesizer).
Mono have released six studio albums. The band spent their early years, from 1999 to 2003, touring Asia, Europe, and America continuously, and released two studio albums, Under the Pipal Tree (2001) and One Step More and You Die (2002) on the Tzadik and Music Mine Inc. record labels, respectively. From 2004 to 2007, Mono signed to Temporary Residence Limited, released two more studio albums, Walking Cloud and Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered and the Sun Shined (2004) and You Are There (2006), and toured worldwide in their support. In 2008, the band took a break, returning one year later with a new studio album, Hymn to the Immortal Wind (2009), also on Temporary Residence Limited. During the tour that followed they recorded a live album, Holy Ground: NYC Live With The Wordless Music Orchestra which was released in 2010. In October 2012 the band released their sixth studio album, titled For My Parents.
The band’s style of music is influenced by the genres of experimental rock and shoegazing, as well as by both the classical and contemporary classical periods of classical music, and also by noise and minimalism. Mono’s sound is characterised by the lead and rhythm guitars of Goto and Yoda respectively, both of whom make extensive use of reverb, distortion and delay effects. The band’s live performances are noted for their intensity, both in the playing and in the dynamics.
Throughout their ten-year career, MONO has ascended consistently in both popularity and critical acclaim, with record sales and live show attendance corresponding. Successfully translating their powerful and violently beautiful live performances on record is no easy feat. Despite their albums’ masterful subtleties and majestic walls of noise, the consensus has remained that their transcendent live shows are simply insurmountable.
Radio Moscow @ Gaia Live | 08.03.13
Opening acts: Million Hollers & The Next Saturdays
Radio Moscow came about a few years back in a Story City, Iowa basement. The First version of Radio Moscow began as a solo project by Parker called Garbage Composal. At this time the sound was very raunchy mid-sixties-ish garage rock heavily influenced by the hidden gems and bands on the nuggets comps, yet still sounding very much its own. Parker recorded one albums worth of the Garbage Composal Demos under the new name Radio Moscow.
Along with the new name came new bass player Serana Andersen. This line-up lasted for a few years without a drummer. Around this time the band started evolving and a whole new sound was created. Still garage-y but now channeled through the blues with experimental breakdowns, unpredictable tempo changes, crazy rave-ups and fuzzed out psychedelic guitar work. For shows parker would pre-record the drums on a 4-track and then blasts it through amplification. Serana and Parker moved to Colorado in the quest for a drummer and a new scene.
Things started out very promising when Dan from The Black Keys called Parker up said he dug the demo that he gave him at a concert and was going to try to push it for us to get it on ALIVE/BOMP records. Parker returned by himself to Iowa to try to get the band up and going. Luke McDuff from Ames filled the vacant bass spot. Together they recorded the debut album for ALIVE/BOMP records with producer Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys. The Album was released Feb 27 2007. Luke had to go back to school so he continued looking for a solid line-up.
After one tryout Zach Anderson jumped on as new bassist. With the help of a few drummer friends (keith rich, todd stevens, paul marrone, cory berry) Radio Moscow has been touring ever since.
