Baildsa Band is a group based in Thessaloniki, Greece that combines balkan sounds and gypsy melodies with post punk aesthetic. The name comes from the turkish word bayılmak (= to faint), which is widely used in villages in the balkans also with similar meanings as fed up, sick of etc. The original idea came in 2007 by Thanos and Yiannis Gountanos, soon formed the group and a year later started the first concerts. Since then Baildsa appear with fury at festivals, music halls, bars, venues, streets with excess energy and power, without teeth. The style of Baildsa Band progressively modified grafting new elements from ska, reggae, rap in the already existing balkan gypsy punk background, resulting in the present composition with: Thanos Gountanos/guitar, Yiannis Gountanos/drums, Dimitris Havlidis/trumpet, Paschalis Karvounaris/trumpet, Loukas Metaxas/bass, Yiannis Vamvakas/accordion, Othon Kokkinos/sound engineer. Their first CD “United States of Balkans” was released in October 2011.

Kokolo, also known as the Kokolo Afrobeat Orchestra, is an American Afrobeat band from the Lower East Side of New York City, formed in 2001 by songwriter/producer Ray Lugo. Along with The Daktaris and Antibalas, they form part of the early New York Afrobeat scene that ignited the genre’s current global revival.

Mungo’s Hi Fi is one sound system located in Glasgow and based on the tradition of authentic Jamaican sound systems, but firmly oriented towards the future. For more than 10 years are starring in the Reggae scene of Glasgow and of the whole Great Britain. Having worked as Dub Dentists, Tom Tattersall and Doug Paine decided in 2000 to form the band determined to bring their own new, clean style on recording, lyrics, producing and performing regarding reggae and dub music. Without delay the Mungo’s Hi Fi filled throughout Glasgow with fresh sounds and modern Reggae, Dub and Dancehall rythms. As it was expected their presence became soon strong in the wider reggae community of the older Scottish town, which was not due to their music but also in the endless appearances in clubs and festivals, reaching up to Glastonbury and Womad. In 2002, Craig Macleo became the third member of the band. Then they released their first album titled “Mungo’s Hifi Meets Brother Culture”. 4 years later, Jerome Joly will become the fourth member in 2009 and they will release their second album “Sound System Champions”. Throughout this period and until their last album “Forward Ever” (2011) they released great EP’s played by all radios in England. Most known arethe “Fi Real”, “Yogga Yogga”, “Songs Of Zion”, “Mary Jane”, “Rock Inna Dancehall”, “ING” etc.

In 2005 they founded the Label Scotch Bonnet from which they released many singles, EP’s and albums. The openness and specificity of the Label is evidenced in the integral role all these new productions play in live performances, offering their fans an immediate sense of the sounds it wants at any given time to produce and promote the label. The mood for collaboration which is a key feature of the culture of the sound system has led them to collaborations with artists such as Ranking Joe, Brother Culture, Earl Sixteen, Sugar Minott, Soom T, Omar Perry (son of Lee Perry), Daddy Freddy, Sister Carol, Bongo Chilli, Tippa Irie, Kenny Knots. Also several of their tracks have appeared in collections such as “Added to this various Dubstep Allstars” (2008), “Rinse” and “Ninja Tune” (2004).
