The bike as an inspiration for 60 artists
The bike, the most widely and rapidly spread means of transportation of our times, both in Greece and on an international level, becomes an object of artistic inspiration as well; it ‘s the subject in an interesting bikeart poster exhibition, as well as in a line of events held by Thessaloniki European Youth Capital 2014 in collaboration with UrbanAct and Bikeart.gr.
The exhibition that will be hosted at “Aithousa Tehnis” (9a Ethnikis Aminis str., Thessaloniki) from the 16th till the 24th December 2013 includes original artworks of bikeart posters by 60 renown artists from all over Greece: urban and tattoo artists, comics creators and graphic designers. All the works are inspired by bikes, as viewed by each artist through its own creative look and views on art.
The objective of this activity, as the UrbanAct team highlights, is “the intervention-reuse of public places, the establishment of opportunities for youth participation and the claim for a more beautiful city with participating citizens”.
