Senser have just completed a brand new Pledge funded album ‘To The Capsules’. Incorporating their unique fusion of rock, metal, hiphop and alternative electronica, staying true to the sound they have been producing since 1989. Senser became known for their political lyrics and a huge live sound which gained headline slots at major UK and European festivals. Senser achieved worldwide success with debut album ‘Stacked Up’ in 1995, which peaked at number 4 in the album charts. They subsequently split up having toured half the planet.
After a long hiatus, in 2009 Senser wrote and recorded their fourth studio album ‘How To Do Battle’ working with producers Neil McLellan (The Prodigy), Jason Wilcox (You Me At Six, Reuben, Fightstar) and New York hip hop producer Scott Harding (Wu Tang Clan, New Kingdom). The album achieved success with press such as Kerrang! and Metal Hammer Magazine praising it, and put the band back on the festival circuit in 2010 where they caused a frenzy on the Pepsi Max Stage at Download Festival. A successful UK headline tour followed, as well as club shows and festivals in Portugal, Czech Republic, France, Spain and the UK. All three singles from the album; ‘Resistance Now’, ‘End Of The World Show’ and ‘2 3 Clear’ aired on Radio 1’s Rock Show, an Xfm live session and the video’s on Scuzz TV.
Planet Mosh summed it up perfectly: “With Senser back from the 90′s, I was worried that they might have brought the 90′s sound with them, they didn’t. The delivery was superbly tight and the room erupted into a mosh pit. This wasn’t 90′s, this was Senser showing other bands how the transition over decades can be done perfectly. Fully retaining their powerful roots yet managing to make every track sound fresh and new. Quite an achievement.”
2011 saw the band release the ‘Biting Rhymes’ EP – a collection of classic hip hop covers recorded in true Senser style. This release saw the band complete a very successful UK tour scoring rave reviews from world press. Senser were also joined by dynamic guest vocalist Imma, adding her own superb twist on Kerstin’s euphoric sound.
Senser have supported rock giants Rage Against The Machine and Tool, and Limp Bizkit cite them as an influence. The Prodigy have used Senser samples on their albums, proving that Senser are one of Britain’s most revolutionary bands and were instrumental in developing and inspiring cross-over music.
With ‘To The Capsules’ release Senser will be back out on the road at gigs and festivals through out the year.
